FULL-TIME VIRTUAL SCHOOL STUDENT INFORMATION

ENROLLMENT INFORMATION:

The RVA is a separate school within your school district. This means that enrolling in the RVA results in the student no longer being a student in the brick and mortar school, but remains a student in the resident district attending the Rural Virtual Academy. Students enrolled in the RVA do have the ability to take up to half their courses in-building and participate in WIAA sports.

FOR RVA STUDENTS WANTING TO TAKE COURSES IN-BUILDING:

  • The students/parent/guardian should contact the in-building school counselor to register for the in-building classes.

  • The in-building school will determine if the student will be able to enroll in the in-building course(s).

  • The student/parent/guardian should communicate any in-building courses with their RVA school counselor or student services coordinator and they will then work with the in-building school counselor to add these courses to their RVA schedule and transcript.

  • RVA students taking courses in-building are required to follow all behavior and attendance expectations for all in-building students.

PARTICIPATION IN WIAA SPORTS, CLUBS, CO-CURRICULARS, & EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

  • RVA students may participate in WIAA sports, clubs, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities within their resident district.

  • RVA students must follow all codes of conduct and eligibility requirements associated with these activities.

  • RVA students wanting to attend in-building dances must complete dance guest forms and be pre-approved to attend the dance by the in-building administration.

GRADUATION INFORMATION:

  • Students enrolled in the RVA will receive an RVA issued diploma.

  • RVA students may choose to walk in their resident school’s or RVA’s graduation ceremony.

  • Local scholarship selections are left to the discretion of the funding source/selection committee.
