  • The School District of Athens is seeking two full-time elementary WI DPI licensed teachers for Maple Grove Elementary Charter School. Open positions include 4th and 5th grades. Candidates must demonstrate a desire to be part of a close-knit team focused on creating an environment where students excel, are motivated to learn, and direct their own learning. The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge of project-based learning, thematic units, professional learning communities, individual learning plans, and the use of data to drive student achievement.

    Maple Grove Elementary School uses tenants of Expeditionary Learning (EL) in Community Crew and curriculum. Outdoor learning in the on-site School Forest includes composting, gardening, tree tapping, production of maple syrup, forest data collection, chicken raising, and conservation. Enrollment is currently capped at 100 students. Families are an integral part of the community. Maple Grove has served the Hamburg, Merrill, and surrounding communities for over 116 years. Maple Grove is located on 25 acres in Hamburg, WI, less than 20 miles from Wausau, Merrill, Athens, and Marathon City in Central Wisconsin.

    Mission Statement: Maple Grove School seeks to develop the whole child through the provision of exploratory experiences where students will engage in a hands-on approach in project development through cultural connections to our traditions, opportunities, and our great community. Athens utilizes the Danielson Model for Educator Effectiveness. The district also supports a 1:1 Chromebook initiative which provides all students with a device.

    The preferred candidate will have experience with various Google platforms (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.) and feel comfortable using technology as an extension of teaching. *Applicants with a Reading Licensure are preferred but not required.

  • The School District of Athens is seeking a full-time Business Education (6-12) & FBLA Advisor. Teaching business & information technology classes to middle and high school students. Classes offered at the high school level are: Information & Technology Literacy (ITL9), Information Processing, Financial Literacy, and Business Marketing, along with other business related classes. At the middle school level, coursework will be offered to grades 6, 7, and 8, exploring a range of things including Internet Safety, basic typing skills, and basic Microsoft Office applications.

    This teacher also serves as advisor for FBLA and the Yearbook. The Accounting & Business/Marketing classes are also taught on the distance learning (CWETN) network.

    We will consider applicants who are secondary certified (6-12) in business education, #250. We are looking for a motivated teacher who will expand the vision of the department. We are a Google Apps for Education school with 1:1 Chromebook technology PK-12. We also utilize Schoology as our Learning Management System and have access to Microsoft 365. Additional certifications welcomed. Coaching opportunities available.

  • The School District of Athens is searching for the following position:

    Title: District Systems Support Specialist

    Qualified applicants should possess the following:

    • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent

    • A degree from vocational/technical college in computers or related area is preferred but not required

    • Experience in a PreK-12 education environment is preferred but not required

    • Ability to demonstrate competency in the following areas including, but not limited to:

    • End-user support for all district wide software and hardware

    • Hardware troubleshooting and repair

    • Specific desired software experience should include: Google G-Suite Apps, Microsoft Office, digital media creation and editing

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Troubleshoot technical issues

    • Working with students, teachers, and parents to resolve technical issues

    • Fixing, cleaning, and maintenance of hardware

    • Installing and configuring hardware and software

    • Provide support in the form of procedural documentation
