Fourth graders from AES had an impactful outdoor learning adventure while hiking a portion of the Ice Age Trail in Westboro, Wisconsin. They enjoyed the chilly but beautiful fall day exploring the trail and learning about our state’s amazing glacial landscape.

Girls in grades 3-5 from all of the Athens area schools participated in the AHS Little Diggers Volleyball Night. For 3 practices they learned all skills of the game and then showed parents, family members and volleyball fans what they learned.

Mrs. Hartwig's preschoolers took a nature walk around school to collect fall leaves for their enrichment Friday activity. Students learned that different types of trees have different size and shapes of leaves. We talked about the different colors leaves change in fall. Afterwards, the students made a fall tree sun catcher with the leaves they collected.

Kindergarteners in Mrs. Markman's class welcomed Fourth Graders from Mrs. Luther's class into our room for Bluejay Buddy Reading time. Kindergarteners each picked out a book from our classroom library that they wanted their buddy (or buddies) to read to them. They are very excited to continue making connections with their 4th grade buddies throughout the year!

Last day of fifth grade for these awesome AES Bluejays!

The Athens Elementary first graders took a trip to NTC and The Wausau Imaginarium. At NTC they saw and did many interesting things such as video production, E sports, planting seeds, and using spheroid robots controlled by a tablet. The Imaginarium was a terrific place to learn by exploring! Students explored water features, wind tunnels and tubes, and various real-life experiences with a sugar shack, market, and food truck. It was a great day!

As if pancakes weren't enough the AES Fourth graders had a cheese tasting party. We tasted several cheeses from Wisconsin! Found a few new favorites!

The fourth graders at AES enjoyed a Lumberjack breakfast. They had pancakes, sausage, apple juice, doughnut holes, hash browns and of course homemade maple syrup! Yum!Yum!

Today is the big day- Graduation Day has arrived. Our sincere apologies for not being able to livestream our commencement ceremony tonight, due to technical difficulties.
Congratulations to the Athens High School Class of 2024!

4th graders from AES traveled to Madison last Friday. They toured the capitol and the WI Veterans Museum. A great day of learning and memory making for our students and parents.

I love showing off these 2nd grade Theibaud Donuts. They are so fun and kids LOVE to make them!

Students in Ms. Kalepp's math class have enjoyed the sunshine this week. They had to draw different types of quadrilaterals and triangles with chalk. Then their partner had to identify and classify them based on their sides and angles. Students even used some of the quadrilaterals already painted on the blacktop.

4th graders from AES celebrated Earth Day and Arbor Day by helping plant trees in Erbach Park. The Athens trail association, under the direction of Steve Brewster and Glen Luetswager, along with Village president, Randy Decker and parent volunteer, Tim Bingham helped prepare and teach student about planting trees. Students then got to go home and plant their own tree to help our environment.

Comedy night leftover gummy candy teeth sure make it more difficult to read but...aren't these kids super cute? Can anyone recommend a good dentist?

First graders have been learning about insects. Our speech teacher, Mrs. Mann, brought in her husband's insect collection as well as 2 live praying mantis! She taught us about the praying mantis, and students were even able to hold one!
