AES 4th graders traveled to Madison for annual trip to the capitol and Veterans Museum.
The first graders at AES enjoyed a field trip to NTC, the NTC farm, and to Jo Jo's Jungle. They learned about careers that help a community, the importance of farms, and how fun it is to spend time with friends.
AES 4th graders met our local Representative Karen Hurd. We learned about her job and how she works on bills that will hopefully become laws.

The fourth graders at AES helped plant trees with Athens Trail Association members Steve B and Lynn L today. We planted many red pine and sugar maple trees in Erbach park.
The 4th graders at AES went back in time to 1904. They enjoyed a day at the Little Red School House. They wrote on slate boards, printed with indie ink and quill like pens, learned geography for that time period, participated in a spelling bee and did classroom chores. A great and memorable time was had by all!

AES Preschoolers made kindness rocks and hid them outside local places around town. If you find one, please give it a new hiding spot for someone else to find. Along the way, we also picked up garbage to go along with our thematic Earth Day unit.

We would like to thank Tracy Engel for coming into our room for the past 5 weeks to teach us skills from Jr. Achievement. The first graders learned about needs and wants, businesses/services, and beginning money skills such as spending and saving money wisely. Thank you, Tracy, we learned a lot!
The Fourth graders in Mrs. Luther's classroom identified and explored different historical perspectives about people and events of the past through learning about logging in Wisconsin. Learning was celebrated with a Lumberjack breakfast. Students had pancakes, sausage, cold beans, hash browns, apple juice, homemade maple syrup, and doughnuts.

The first graders at Athens Elementary are 100 days smarter! The students had activities centered around the number 100, and the day ended with an all-school 100th Day Bingo!
