
Tonight 2 FFA members competed at the District Leadership Development Events (LDEs), also known as speaking contests, at Medford High School. Congrats to Maleah, who received 1st place in Employability Skills. She will be competing at Sectionals in Spencer on April 7th. Congrats to both members who competed tonight!



These wonderful ladies and two of their classmates will be going to State for FBLA in March. Congratulations ladies! Well done!

February 3rd - 7th is National School Counseling Week 2020! The theme this year is "School Counselors: Helping Build Better Humans." Our Athens Blue Jays are appreciative of the work done by the student support staff. They certainly are building us stronger!

It was a special night for kindergarten through eighth girls basketball players as they were recognized at the varsity game. Go Bluejays!


11th and 12th grade students in Greek mythology practiced writing inspirational phrases in Greek.

First graders in Mrs. Luther’s room and fourth graders from Mr. Diethelm’s room are reading buddies. The children take turns reading and listening to one another read. We look forward to doing other activities together as well.




In our science lesson on force and motion, it’s always more fun to practice for real! We used ramps, talked about acceleration, and also discussed friction.




AMS 6th graders are learning about US geography by recreating physical maps. They've done a great job studying elevation!

7th Graders have been studying the Roaring 20s. We've visited the stars in Hollywood, the sports arenas, Chicago and Al Capone. The 20s were a very exciting decade! It was indeed the 'bee's knees'!

It's officially ACCESS for ELLs testing time! All students who are learning English as their second language are required to take an annual test that measures their proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking. It's great to see smiling faces for this assessment. Buena suerte estudiantes!
